The services and operations of Community Church of Itasca are founded upon and always shall be consistent with the following beliefs:
The Bible is God’s Word to everyone. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God is supreme being and the Creator who is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, our praise, and our worship, and above all, He is Holy and set-apart. It is in Him that we live, move, and have our being. God is good. He is loving, compassionate, faithful and is Father to His people.
Jesus the Messiah is God's only begotten Son. He is the Word of God who became flesh when He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, was buried, was resurrected, ascended into Heaven, is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is the Way back into reconciliation to God the Father, the only Truth, and the eternal Life for all who will believe.
Holy Spirit is a person who is a gift from God who comes to live inside believers. He was given to the world after Jesus ascended up into heaven after His resurrection. He is our inner witness of Jesus's work on the cross and was given to us to empower and equip us to build up and grow the Body of Jesus and to advance the kingdom of heaven by helping us, teaching us, reminding us of God's Word, comforting us, counseling us, sanctifying us, transforming us, renewing us, and bestowing powerful and supernatural gifts to us to heal the sick, deliver the demon-possessed, and provide miracles which stop the work of Satan. The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of supernatural gifts and is able to operate through those believers who yield to His unction.
There is one God manifested in three persons known as the God-head: God the Father and Creator, Jesus the Son of God and our Savior, and Holy Spirit our sanctifier. They are 3 in 1 and they have only one mission: to advance the kingdom of God by bringing the lost back into the kingdom, as they all work together by their individual functions to accomplish this goal in each believer's life.
Satan is a devil who has power over people who have not accepted the gift of salvation. He is the enemy of God and the enemy of believers. He has come to kill, steal, and destroy all that God has made and all that God has for His people. Like God, Satan also has an army of demonic spiritual beings or evil spirits, who carry out his plan to try to defeat God and His people. Satan has already lost the war and, end the end, he will be eternally condemned by death.
There are 2 baptisms that every believer was commanded to observe: the baptism of water for the cleansing and forgiveness of sin, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire for the power to be witnesses of Jesus Christ and to advance and grow the kingdom of heaven. Both baptisms are expected and required of every believer.
Mankind are eternal beings. Man, like the God-head Trinity, is a tri-part being who is an eternal spirit, has a soul/mind, and lives in body. Though the physical body will die, there will be a resurrection of the dead. The spirits and souls of the person will either go to a place of eternal life for those who accept salvation through Jesus, or eternal punishment by eternal death for those who do not.
Man is born into sin and doomed to eternal death because of the fall of the first people, Adam and Eve. God sent a savior to save mankind from eternal death and to offer eternal life through His son's work and by the receiving of the Holy Spirit.
Sanctification comes through the believer's knowledge of God by the belief, acceptance, knowledge of His Word, and by the Holy Spirit who purifies the heart and life. The believer's part of sanctification is an ongoing process of responding to the Word of God to become transformed by the instruction and calling of the Holy Spirit.
One of the most important functions of a believer's life is to bring praise to God by living a lifestyle of continuous worship of obedience, bringing continual glory to our Creator. We worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Divine healing and deliverance is available to all believers through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ and that healing is included in His redemptive work. Devine healing and demon deliverance, many times, come in the form of miracles and supernatural events.
Jesus is coming back for his body, also referred to as His Bride. He will gather His Bride to rule and reign with Him before the eternal judgement day. This gathering of His Bride is also known as the resurrection when believers who have died, or who are alive at His second coming, will be given new, supernatural bodies that will live forever. After His second coming, His reign, and His judgment, believers will live with Jesus for all eternity. Death will be defeated. Those who did not accept his gift of salvation will be eternally dead.
